The GX6000 is more than just a full-featured VHF radio. Standard VHF features include a 25Watt dual zone loudhailer, Class D Digital Select Calling, a 32 & 4 code voice scrambler, and IPX8 submersible waterproofing.
It's the additional features that really make the GX6000 stand out. The radio includes a 66 channel GPS/Glonass receiver that provides basic navigation functions along with speed and course. It also has a built-in dual channel AIS receiver to provide you with the localtion, course, and speed of nearby AIS equipped vessels.
